Lesson 1
Love Thy Neighbor
The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)
This lesson teaches what Jesus commanded about loving our neighbors: who they are, how we should love them, and what He expects us, His servants, to do when given the opportunity to help neighbors.
Lesson 2
Glorify God
Jesus Shows Compassion (Matthew 15:29-38)
This lesson teaches how Jesus created us to walk in good works, and how God is glorified when as His servants we show love and compassion to neighbors wherever they may live, both near and far away.
Lesson 3
Know the Power of Love and Faith
A Neighbor with Palsy (Mark 2:1-5)
This lesson teaches that our love and faith in Jesus helps us overcome obstacles that would stop us from helping our neighbors. When we truly serve Jesus, obstacles do not stop us from serving Him. We find ways around them.
Lesson 4
Be Neighbors for Jesus
The Woman at the Well (John 4:5-39)
This lesson teaches that we should be as anxious to lead our neighbors to Jesus as the Samaritan woman! To love our neighbors the way Jesus teaches, we must tell them about Jesus and invite them to be part of our church family.
Lesson 5
Teach Truth
Philip Helps the Ethiopian (Acts 8:27-39)
This lesson teaches the importance of learning and teaching others the gospel truth, which has the power to save souls. If we learn Jesus’ teachings as we should, we can help others learn them, too, just as Jesus commanded.
You can order the introductory kit to see a sampling of the materials in this VBS course. If you decide not to use the Neighbors for Jesus course, you may return the kit for credit until August 1, 2007, if the materials are in saleable condition.
This VBS course does make applications that include church-sponsored general benevolence. As with any material written by men, there may be things with which you do not agree. Teachers can adapt lessons and make applications that will coincide with what the congregation believes to be true. Please keep this in mind when using this and any other Bible class material.
