Reason to Rejoice

Thomas H. Holland
25 Sermon Outlines on the Book of Philippians
This book contains 25 sermon outlines on the book of Philippians. In the preface, the author wrote the following: Philippians has been called “the epistle of joy.” The words “rejoice” and “joy” appear often in the inspired letter. Paul discussed the things that gave him occasion for rejoicing: Christ was preached (1:18); there was unity among the brethren (2:2); he had a successful work (2:15); he had he privilege of serving (2:17); he had faithful brethren (2:17-25); and, the brethren really cared for him (4:10). Furthermore, he explains in the Philippian letter that the brethren there indeed had every reason to rejoice. The theme of Philippians is a striking contrast to the pessimism of the world. The fear, frustration, and unhappiness of the world are real contrasts to the peace, joy, and happiness of those who have reason to rejoice in the Lord. (Philippians 4:4) Selected sermon titles include: • Reason to Rejoice • Paul’s Philippian Prayer • Filled with Fruits • Magnifying Christ • Jesus is Lord • Motives for Godly Living • A Practical Philosophy for Life And many more!
