Vision of Victory

Thomas H. Holland
46 Sermon Outlines on the Book of Revelation
This book contains 46 sermon outlines on the book of Revelation. In the preface of the book, the author writes: The outlines in Vision of Victory are based on the view that Jesus gave John what was to become the main thrust of the Revelation when He said to John and the other apostles: “These things have I spoken to you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. (John 16:33) This prophecy concluded the lengthy discourse of Jesus to his apostles that covers John 14, 15, 16. This discourse becomes a key to the book of Revelation. The prophecy of Jesus was reinforced by the inspired apostle Paul when he wrote, “Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution”. (2 Timothy 3:12) This is the subject of Revelation, namely, paying the price to live godly, knowing that the Lord and His people have a sure victory. Revelation deals with the harsh realities of tribulation or trouble. Jesus said that His people would have tribulation in the world. (John 16:33) John was a partaker of the tribulation with those to whom He penned this letter. (Rev. 1:9) However, tribulation is not the end of the matter. The Lord Jesus said, “I have overcome the world”. Revelation declares that the Lord and His people shall overcome the world. It is interesting that the word “overcome” is used in Revelation more than in all other of the New Testament books! Indeed, God’s people shall overcome! Thus the vision of victory! The preacher/teacher will find different approaches used in developing lessons from the texts of Revelation. The lessons are topical, textual, and expository in method. Selected sermon titles include: • The Revelation of a Promise • The Blood of Christ • Fear Not Fear • Leaving First Love • Listen, Do You Hear? • Victory in Jesus And many more!
